The Botox used in our office is carefully produced and monitored by the Allergan corporation which makes the only FDA approved Botox.

Injection of true and pure Botox supplied by Allergan is done in our office. This treatment is designed to reduce the furrows or creases in the forehead and  eye areas.  Other areas may be injected such as the neck muscle bands etc. The Botox temporarily blocks the contraction of the muscle until new muscle receptor grow and the muscle returns to normal contraction and your creases reappear. The treatment typically lasts 3 - 4 months.

Botox is a protein that weakens muscles that wrinkle the skin. Typically the Botox will take effect in two to five days. The effect will usually last three to four months. It is injected under the skin into areas surrounding the eyes and forehead to reduce "worry lines", "crow's feet" and "frown lines". Dr. Guilder also uses Botox for turning up the corners of the mouth and reducing the neck muscle bands.

The procedure is quick and usually performed in an examination room. No anesthesia is needed for the procedure which is completed in a matter of minutes. Rarely slight bruising occurs. Excessive muscle weakness is very uncommon and fortunately always temporary. Patients who have muscular conditions such as myasthenia or are pregnant are not candidates for Botox.

A great application for Botox is to supplement migraine or tension headache relief. Even being out in the sun causes less facial tightness after Botox.
